leavin’ on a jet plane

We are on the plane, waiting to head out. I’m anxious, but not about anything other than just getting there! On the first trip, I was nervous about so many things – what would Ethiopia be like, would we be able to communicate when needed, what would it be like to meet our daughter (and then to leave her). But this time, everything is known. I am looking forward to being in that special place again, of course to be reunited with our daughter, but also to see the special people we met, to bask in the warm sunshine (the rainy season is over, knock on wood), to return to that beautiful country.

We will be back on the 13th. With our daughter. Forever.
