quest

We are on a quest for ceiling fans. It should not be a difficult task to acquire ceiling fans, yet we have been on this quest for a year now. We hate, hate, HATE the fans in our house. See the photo to the left for an example. Yuck. We would like to find something fairly simple and sleek, with a satin nickel finish. We went to Lowe’s yesterday with the goal of purchasing four fans – one for the living room (preferrably without any light attachment), one for the master bedroom, and two for the other bedrooms. Alas, we left with zero fans. I felt so empty when we got home, as I had anticipated returning with four large boxes.

Craig is searching online for fans, and this is what he found. Good grief. Please, someone help me!

Hahhahaa that is some fan!! We had a lot of trouble finding a fan for our master bedroom, with similar specs– no light kit, satin nickel finish, 52″. Eventually I scrolled through the zillions of fans on the hunter web site to find one I liked and then found an online retailer that sold it. Unfortunately now we want to find the same fan again for the new house and we can’t find it anywhere!

We would really like to forego the light kit for both the living room and the master bedroom. The problem with the online searches is like you said – there are SO many choices that I burn out quickly and just give up. I am also amazed at how expensive some fans can be. *sigh*

You can have the ceiling fan in my bedroom. It shakes so much I can’t sleep in there for fear of it falling and me being chopped into tiny bits in my sleep. You really have to just trip over the one you like. You wouldn’t think there would be that many options, because really, who spends that much time looking up? But it’s mind boggling, isn’t it?
